Reasons for undergoing a thermal spring water treatment at Avène

The Avène Hydrotherapy Centre welcomes patients from all over the world suffering from skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and eczema, psoriasis, ichthyosis, chronic pruritus and prurigos, uncomfortable scars, the after-effects of burns, cutaneous-mucous lichens, problems with the oral mucous membranes, scalp conditions, or even following oncological treatments. This list is not exhaustive and other conditions may be taken care of following consultation between your doctor and the thermal doctor. 

Personalised treatments

Aware that every condition is unique, upon your arrival, a thermal doctor will establish a personalised treatment programme for your treatment stay (the stays can be 1, 2 or 3 weeks long).

This includes basic thermal water treatments: baths, general showers and sprays, as well as treatment drinks. Depending on the needs of your skin, complementary thermal spring water treatments can be offered such as filiform showers, or even thermal spring water compresses, underwater massage, local sprays, etc. and also specific treatments such as wraps or hydrating body sculpting treatments, hydrating face treatments and full scalp treatments.

That’s why we offer you the opportunity to attend workshops and conferences to inform you and help you better cope with your condition every day. At Avène, we know that chronic childhood dermatological conditions such as very dry, eczema-prone skin don’t just have a significant impact on the daily life of children, they also affect their families.

Thermal spring water treatment at Avène can be seen as an opportunity to reconnect with your child, in a new, unique, and soothing environment. Here, one in every four spa guests is a child and the thermal baths even welcome toddlers from 3 months old! As every condition is unique, your child will be aided as soon as they arrive with a personalised care programme, recommended by a doctor at the centre. Thanks to specific workshops, you will accompany your child and take advantage of your stay to learn together to better cope with the condition every day.
